Many reports are a manuscript and were not published for distribution.

Established 1863. Officially established by statute Apr. 11, 1894. From 1893 to 1908 performed the archival functions which were transferred to the new Provincial Archives of British Columbia in 1908. Name changed 190? to Provincial Library, although this change was never authorized by statute. Reverted summer 1974 to Legislative Library.
