"This is the final report of the British Columbia Claims Task Force which was created on December 3, 1990 by the Governments of Canada and British Columbia, and the First Nations of British Columbia to recommend how the three parties could begin negotiations and what the negotiations should include. The report includes historical background information on land claims in British Columbia and 19 recommendations on the scope and process of treaty negotiations, interim measures, public information and education. Among the key recommendations of the task force were the creation of the B.C. Treaty Commission, and the establishment of a 6-stage negotiation process." -- British Columbia Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs web index page.
